Fiber Optic Cabling

Reno Fiber Optic Cabling Made Simple

Conway Communications offers the best cabling services to commercial sites of any size. Fiber optic cabling is used as a backbone cable, which connects the various telecom and equipment rooms together. Meanwhile, copper cabling is still used to connect those telecomm rooms to the various outlets and work areas. Combined, the fiber and copper are used to connect your communication systems and allow high-speed data networking. While copper cabling is needed to disperse out your network to the desktop, there are a variety of cable types that can help feed the network. Fiber optic cables are a more superior option when it comes to your telecommunication and networking needs, especially for growing businesses. Because of its high bandwidth and how easy it is to update and diagnose these systems, the use of fiber optic cabling is much more popular than older methods.

Cabling Systems

Cabling systems are designed for creating high-performance, long distance telecommunications and data networking. As your business grows, your use of technology and the need for more modern applications grows with it. You’ll soon outgrow your small IT room and will require additional devices and more advanced systems which can be best accommodated by fiber optic solutions. Copper cabling systems alone simply won’t cut it in our modern world. Fiber optic cabling systems provide a superior transmission of data and is also less susceptible to interference. It also allows you to grow your communication systems more rapidly and with greater security. A fiber optic structure also makes adding cables or other systems to the existing setup much easier. If you’re in need of faster, stronger cabling connections, then you may want to make the switch.

There are many ways that fiber optic cables can be installed and the method will largely depend on the location of your system. Installation is similar to the way copper cabling is installed, however, the fiber cables are much more fragile and require more care when handling them. Conway Communications takes many more precautions when installing fiber optics so the glass on the inside of the cable remains undamaged and fully functional. While applications will depend on their use, the two common options are indoor and outdoor applications. Once installed, our experts will test the strands to ensure each one works properly.
What makes our Reno fiber optic cabling services superior is our high attention to detail and care. Conway Communications takes all necessary precautions while handling the fiber prior to and during installation, while maintaining proper cleaning and testing standards to provide the end user with the best quality fiber and terminations/splices possible. We know how important it is that these systems work effectively and efficiently which is why we put so much focus on how we handle the fiber.

Fiber Optic Cable Types

There are several cable types to choose from when considering fiber optic cabling systems. Multimode fiber can be installed indoor and outdoor both with distances extending up to 550 meters. Single mode fiber on the other hand can reach distances of up to 1000 meters before requiring a repeater or signal booster and generally has greater bandwidth capabilities than multimode fiber. If you are looking to exceed a 10GB backbone, or have a longer distance fiber run, single mode may be the option to consider. Please contact us for more information on the different types of fiber optic cables and let our cable experts help you determine which option will best fit your application.
